The syrup in the spring pancake breakfast had about 30
folks attend. It was an unusually warm day for March and
all seem to have a good time.
They enjoyed visiting with friends and were entertained
by the Root Cellar String Band.
Natalie had a display for tree identification and Fruths
Sugar House had their maple syrup products for sale.
Maple syrup produced locally, it just doesn’t get any
better than that.
This year we had a few folks visit us from the Toledo
area. They read about us in the paper and were surprised
to learn that the park was here. Well like we say, Van
Buren State Park is the best kept secret in NW Ohio. But
the word is getting spread around about this small but
great state park.
I want to thank Natalie our park naturalist and of
course all our great volunteers for the time they put in
on events like this.
Also a special thanks to the band. They are very
talented and a joy to listen to.
After expenses we made a little money and of course all
monies are spent on activities and helping make
improvements in the park.
Our goal is to make Van Buren State Park the best
little state park in Ohio!
Watch our calendar of events for upcoming activities in
the park and come and enjoy. Bring a friend.
We are always in need of volunteers. Those interested
please contact Natalie or one of the officers of the
friends group and we will get you involved.
Thanks
Tom
