Current and Future Projects

The FVBSP has many projects that are currently being worked on, and some future projects that are being planned.  Here are a few of the projects in the works:

Electric at Campsites

At this time, there is no electricity for campers at either the family campground or the horsemen's campground.  We hope to have electric put in campsites in each campground in the near future.

Riding Arena

In partnership with the Wood County Ohio Horseman's Council and an Eagle Scout project, we hope to complete a riding arena located at the south end of the day use area. This will be a great asset for equestrians and 4-H groups. It can be used for a variety of events.

We began to raise funds for the purchase of this arena in 2006.  The fence was completed in 2007.  We will be working on the footing surface spring 2008 and erect the donor wall and flag pole.  We thank everyone for their generous donations for this project.

Equestrian Day Use Area

There is a new Day Use Area for the horseman located east of the campground.   We hope to put up picket lines and a small shelter for the horseman.

Trail Work

Trail work is a never ending process.   We will continue to maintain trails, and place trail markers on the trails.

Shelter House

Plans are in the works to improve the shelter house along Rocky Ford creek with a concrete floor and fireplace.

Assistance to the Park Naturalist

We have helped Natalie Miller, the park naturalist, with funds to attend some educational programs and purchased a DVD player for her use. We will continue to help her in any way we can.

Fishing Pier

Replacement of the fishing pier at the lake is in the works.
